Data Steward – GBS Data Governance
Role Summary: The Enterprise Data Strategy team within Global Data & Analytics (GD&A) is built to help CIGNA drive improvement in the accessibility and quality of our data assets and tools, and allow us to deliver data solutions faster than we do today. Our ultimate goal is to ensure Cigna’s ability to grow is unconstrained by any limitations of our data.
As part of the Government Business Segment (GBS) Data Strategy team, the GBS Data Governance team uses governance and quality best practices to support operational, technological, and analytic efficiencies and enhancements across the Medicare and Medicaid lines of business.
The Data Steward is a highly visible member of a cross-functional Data Governance team who partners with business, technical, and regulatory partners to ensure the documentation and implementation of Medicare & Medicaid data standards across the enterprise.
The Data Steward leads complex, cross-organizational conversations – including risk assessment, data quality auditing, issue management, and knowledge management – to ensure Medicare & Medicaid data is fit for organization use.
Responsibilities:
Lead Data Governance committees and collaboration with stakeholders to document, define, maintain, and manage Medicare & Medicaid data standards and assets.
Assess and monitor data quality metrics, analyzing trends and proactively promoting remediation and preventive action efforts.
Partner with IT and business teams to ensure the use of best practices and compliance with data standards.
Provide consultative stewardship services to delivery and issue resolution teams, serving as subject matter expert as needed.
Provide guidance on development, usage, and inventory of technical assets.
Represent GBS Data Governance in enterprise workgroups and data steward communities of practice.
This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation.
Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience as a healthcare professional, Data Steward, Data Quality Analyst and/or Business Analyst
Extensive experience with Medicare and Medicaid products
Experienced in data management, data quality, and data governance practices
Self-driven and able to function with minimal direction from Manager
Has the ability to engage business and data stakeholders to resolve questions or issues
Must have the ability to handle multiple and sometimes competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Must be a quick learner and a team player
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Able to strategize across complex, cross-functional projects and initiatives
Experience in Agile Method
This role is WAH/Flex which allows most work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.
This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
