As a data scientist at Level20, you’ll advance the use of technology, machine learning, applied statistics and large sets of labeled data to develop our new and differentiated product features and functionality. You'll play a role that spans from machine learning engineer to business consultant. Starting your role from home, you’ll be provided virtual training and onboarding. You’ll eventually transition into a hybrid in-office schedule where work from home is possible on Mondays and Fridays, when we are ready to open our downtown Cleveland, OH office.
Must-have qualifications
Master's degree or higher with quantitative focus in econometrics, statistics, operations research, computer science or related field (e.g. mathematics)
In lieu of the above, Bachelor's degree with quantitative focus in econometrics, statistics, operations research, computer science or related field (e.g. mathematics) and a minimum of one year of relevant experience in statistical/quantitative modeling and/or machine learning tools (R, Python, etc.) and in using various database tools (e.g. Hadoop, SQL) processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data
In lieu of a degree, a minimum of five years of relevant experience in statistical/quantitative Modeling and/or machine learning tools (R, Python, etc.) and in using various database tools (e.g. Hadoop, SQL) processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data
Preferred skills
Knowledge of insurance, banking, or other financial services is a plus
Delivered multiple customer facing products, models and systems into production
Two years of experience using Linux, GitHub, public cloud infrastructure and mathematical model creation
Experience implementing ML algorithms and loss functions that are novel or recently published (publication history and open source code contributions)
Two years of experience with mathematical model creation and/or evaluation, EDA, feature engineering, hypothesis testing, and experimental design
Compensation
$80,300 - $131,500/year depending on position level and experience
Gainshare bonus up to 30%- 40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
