Job Description

Are you a Data Scientist with a passion for collaborating with Engineers, Product Managers, and other Data Scientists to drive product growth?

You will be working on growing products made in our Developer Division that are used by millions of developers worldwide. According to the 2021 Stack Overflow developer survey, Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code are the leading IDEs used by developers, used by more than 30% and 70% respectively. Our Azure cloud platform is used by more than 30% of developers, with .NET as the most loved framework. We’re constantly striving to learn the needs of developers, how they work and what frustrates them, and how we can help them be more productive. Delighting and retaining developers who use Azure with our tools and services is our core mission.

We’re looking for someone to join our team of Data Scientists and Technical Program Managers who are focused on driving growth for the Developer Division products. Your efforts will help the organization get more information and insights out of the data produced by our products and experiences. We expect that you’re comfortable talking with internal data platform users, describing how product teams should instrument telemetry data, anticipating user needs and project risks, maintaining compliance requirements, and developing project roadmaps.

Here’s what you’ll learn and do to be successful in this role:

  • You’ll dive deep
  • You’ll identify and address pain points in users’ experiences using the Developer Division’s telemetry systems and tools by improving documentation, experiences, and capabilities
  • You’ll build productive and collaborative relationships with Engineers, Product Managers, and Data Scientists
  • You’ll test out the tools and products Microsoft is building specifically for data scientists to provide feedback for our product and engineering teams
  • You’ll be an active learner and problem-solver, eager to pick up new skills and go through experiences firsthand to better understand the value that the data platform and tools should provide to internal teams

This position is 100% Remote, but will have the option to be onsite if desired.
