Job Description

Develops and publishes the Data Science strategy/roadmap and processes, best practices, and tools.  Manages risks associated with the development, implementation and usage of data science solutions.  

Tasks: 

  • Builds and maintains a robust library of data science solutions, reusable templates, algorithms and supporting code. 

  • Unifies the Data Science Community and coordinates meetings and events. 

  • Coordinates training on advanced analytics capabilities and builds reporting capabilities on the progress and adoption of data science solutions. 

  • Works with Vendor Management to ensure oversight for the procurement of third-party data science solutions.   

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of the Data Science strategy and roadmap and the AI Ethics Framework. 

  • Educates on model risk management best practices and may work with other risk functions in the development and implementation of model and operational risk controls 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Quantitative Economics, Statistics, or related quantitative field. 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree. 

  • 6 or more years related quantitative analysis experience in a discipline relevant to risk management to include statistical analysis, modeling, mathematics or other quantitative discipline. Or advanced degree/designation in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or other quantitative discipline and 4 or more years work experience in a quantitative discipline relevant to risk management.  

  • Utilizes advanced analytical knowledge and consulting experience to influence the data science oversight/governance process, technology and data requirements for the modeling environment 

  • Applies advanced knowledge to partner with key stakeholders to mitigate risk and improve operational effectiveness in model development, implementation, and use 

  • Provides guidance through the model lifecycle 

  • Facilitates compliance with company policies and standards 

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas with team members and/or business leaders to convey and present very technical information to an audience that may have little or no understanding of technical concepts in data science. 

Preferred Experience: 

  • Experience in managing model risk 

  • Experience in procuring or developing, implementing and using data science solutions 

  • Experience supporting the CPG industry
