Job Description

Our location in ABBOTT PARK OR ST. PAUL, MN.  currently has an opportunity for a DATA PROTECTION ANALYST. The Data Protection Analyst is responsible for maturing the company’s data protection program by ensuring the effectiveness of the data protection technologies and controls leveraging skills to change the way Abbott employees consume and data. They interact with multiple levels of the organization, including senior management, and are responsible for the cultivating the company’s data protection culture.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop and improve processes and procedures for enterprise Data Protection
  • Assist in maturing DLP & CASB solutions by creating, testing and implementing new DLP policies within various tooling and platforms
  • Utilize Data Loss Prevention (DLP) products to generate and maintain user, email, desktop, and network monitoring policies
  • Collaborate closely with partners across the organization to identify data loss concerns for which DLP policies and services can be defined, designed and implemented
  • Define and build metrics and reporting to enhance understanding of DLP Program development and maturity
  • Influence data-use policies and procedures within lines of business
  • Build and champion a company-wide culture around data protection
  • Enforce data loss prevention policies across the company using technical preventive controls
  • Assist with Data Discovery. Scanning, quarantining and purging unnecessary data from Network Shares, SharePoint Sites and Cloud Storage
  • Assist with Data Classification& Tagging efforts
  • Triaging and management of DLP incidents

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor\'s degree or higher in Information Security, Risk or IT Management, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of hands-on experience in Cybersecurity focused on Data Protection or Incident response capabilities
  • Experience with Data Loss Prevention or other Enterprise Scanning tools, including policy tuning and documenting supporting procedures and processes
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for DLP program and governance processes
  • Hands-on DLP experience in Cloud technology such as AWS, CASB, O365, SharePoint
  • Experience with whitelisting or blacklisting processes, devices, e-mail accounts
  • Exceptionally self-motivated, directed, and detail oriented
  • Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high quality environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

PREFERRED

  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including knowledge of regulatory compliance
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • CISSP or any other Cyber Defense certification (CEH, GCIH, CSIH, etc.)
