Position Overview:

As a Data Modeler for Cigna you will supports our CareAllies product by diving deep into complex Clinical Data Integration (CDI) projects, Population Health applications and internal/external data sources.  Please not specific product experience not required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides in-depth consulting to product and technology teams in designing data flows that support business processes and internal/external reporting requirements.   
• Maintains consistent data element definitions across computing environments; actively identifies and resolves information flow and content issues.
• Demonstrates deep understanding of business as it relates to data flow to design the appropriate models that support business processes and reporting requirements. 
• Utilizes expertise with corporate data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data dictionaries and data element naming standards and conventions for multiple computing environments to support data warehousing and efficient data mining.
• Analyzes, designs and prepares data specifications needed to address business needs.  Analyzes and revises existing logic documentation as necessary.
• Coordinates activities with other technology groups (e.g., data base, security, compliance, operations, etc)
• Participates in testing of new data interfaces.

Required Experience / Qualifications:

• Hands-on relational, dimensional, and/or analytic experience.
• Experience with data warehouse, data-lake, and enterprise big data platforms in multi-data-center contexts; Good knowledge of metadata management, data modeling, and related tools.
• Expertise in data modeling principles/methods including conceptual, logical & physical Data Models.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical ideas, regardless of the technical capacity of the audience.
• Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work as part of an agile scrum team.

Desired Experience / Qualifications:

• Experience in the healthcare domain; Medicare Advantage a plus
• Understanding population health applications and electronic health records (EHR)  preferred
• Experience using agile software (Jira, Rally) working within agile/waterfall software development lifecycles
• Experience working on multiple diverse projects with complex requirements and challenging timelines
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills with ability to execute with limited information
• Ability to work with minimal guidance and prioritize multiple assigned projects
• Ability to navigate a highly-matrixed organization effectively
