We are looking for a savvy Data Engineer to join our growing data engineering team on a transformation journey to “Data as a Product” delivering business value through features based on customer needs. Will be responsible for expanding and optimizing data pipeline, architecture, and data flow and collection for cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is a passionate data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will support our software developers, database architects, data analysts, and data scientists on data initiatives and ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent with “Data as a Product” mindset delivery.

Responsibilities for Data Engineer

  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading data from various data sources (structured and unstructured).

  • Design and implement data solutions on Azure modern data platform (CosmosDB, SQL, SQL Data Warehouse, Data Lake Storage, Synapse, Databricks, and Blob storage…).

  • Build data warehouses and semantic models in data marts using Azure Data Services.

  • Work with stakeholders, including the management, product, and data scientists, to assist in designing, developing data pipelines, and feature engineering of data solutions.

  • Design and implement the platform and frameworks required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.

  • Design, implement and operationalize data pipelines, data warehouses, and semantic models in data marts using Azure Data Services (ADF, Synapse, CosmosDB, Spark, Analysis Services, PowerBI etc.).

  • Gain deep technical expertise in data movement patterns, practices, and tools.

  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Required Qualifications

  • University Degree (Bachelor) or equivalent experience with at least 2-3 years of prior relevant experience.

  • 2+ years of designing and deploying data analytics pipelines in the cloud using Azure Data Services.

  • 2+ years using relational databases running ETL process and managing large data transformations.

  • 2+ years of designing and transforming large data using Azure Data Services (Synapse, ADF, Scala, Apache Spark, Data Factory, and Python).

  • Experience designing data models (STAR, Vault, Tabular) for analytics.

  • Experience integrating notebooks (PySpark, Scala) into the data pipeline.

  • Proven experience with SQL and Pl/SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), and working familiarly with various databases.

  • Polyglot development: Capable of developing in Scala and Python with a good understanding of functional programming.

  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, Agile, and/or Scrum methods of delivery

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Big Data migrations/transformations programs in the Data Warehousing / Business Intelligence areas.

  • Azure Certifications: DP-200: Implementing an Azure Data Solution DP-201: Designing an Azure Data Solution AZ-400: Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions or others related to the position.

  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.

  • Experience in building self-contained applications using Docker, Vagrant. Chef.
