We are looking for a Data Center Security Specialist to join our expanding Data Center Operations team. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, innovative and professional. S/he has experience in delighting customers, teamwork, and continuous improvement. The Data Center Security Specialist role encompasses oversight of contract employees and collaborating with Data Center Managers to devise security strategies, achieve financial targets, and to improve the overall operational security within our Data Centers. S/he will report to the Area Security Manager responsible for their Data Center Campus.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the activities of a professional contract guard force
- Interface with and assist in mobilizing vendors involved in system repairs and new security construction
- Oversee individual security vendor deliverables, track service delivery and request corrective actions from vendors as needed
- Foster working relationships to educate data center stakeholders on false alarm reductions
- Extract metrics and observe improvements by looking at and analyzing data
- Verify Data Center security programs are delivered to meet defined global security standards
- Develop strategies for improving electronic surveillance and access controls
- Draft reports and prepare presentations on the status of physical security operations
- Collaborate with managers in writing and implementing security processes and procedures
- Serve as a customer advocate by identifying security-related opportunities and crafting innovative solutions that maintain uncompromising security standards

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (BQs)
- 1+ year of experience working in a standards-based work environment (ISO9001, ISO27001, ISO45001)
- 1+ year of experience collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to drive process and system improvement
- 1+ year of experience with Microsoft Office tools (suite of word, excel and outlook as minimum)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· 1+ year working in an operations, physical security or equivalent environment
· 2+ years of experience collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data
· Participated in an Integrated Project Team or served as part of team to complete a general project
· 2+ years of experience compiling reports
· 1+ years of demonstrated leadership skills
· 1+ years of incident response & management experience
· 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office tools (suite of word, excel and outlook as a minimum)
. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
. Must be able to travel between local sites as needed, up to 50% of work week
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
