Job Description

You will be joining Avery’s Business Intelligence team, a centralized team responsible for planning and executing the Enterprise Warehouse and Analytics roadmap within Avery’s RBIS division. The Data team will be filled with data and digital talent that will be working on the most important initiatives within RBIS to increase the various business process efficiency and unlock value for our customers, in close collaboration with internal resources and external partners.

You will have an important voice in the enterprise’s architecture by providing technical perspective and resolving architectural issues that emerge during integration. You will also design, develop, and support conceptual/logical/physical data models for analytics solutions. You will be a mentor to the development and business teams by assisting in and/or leading the development and implementation of data collection systems as necessary and providing input on data architecture design and requirements. You will also review projects for compliance with target architecture.

You will also handle both strategic and tactical aspects of this work. The strategic portion requires a close collaboration with Sr. Data Architect defining data architectures that account for performance, scalability, and data reliability. The tactical portion involves hands-on leadership, which at times will be achieved through actual implementation of our future state architecture.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Collaborating with engineering, product management, and operations to understand the current data landscape

Identifying new technologies that can be utilized to improve data reliability, quality, scalability, performance, and maintainability

Designing the go-forward data storage, mapping existing data to this new architecture, building patterns to improve data quality and resolving existing and future data management issues

Ensuring the technical feasibility of the data architecture you’re defining

Overseeing the multiple project execution of the data architecture from a technical perspective

Resolving roadblocks and escalating to management when appropriate

Supporting quality control practices to validate the data resident in the go forward architecture

Seeking opportunities for automation

Guiding and mentoring junior team members

Deploying regulatory and company secret data to production

Establishing governance and security policies for Data Science

 

Qualifications

A highly motivated self-starter with a high attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

Ability to be a leader among the engineering team

Ability to translate business requirements into data structures

A track record of communicating at all levels of the organization and driving implementation of the future state architecture through collaboration with teams across multiple departments

Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Additional Experience:

10+ years of enterprise data architecture experience with data intensive solutions from various ERP’s including Oracle EBS, Fusion Cloud and Non-Oracle systems

10+ years understanding database structures and hands-on experience using Oracle, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB 

10+ years in being involved in Oracle Cloud Warehouse and Snowflake on Azure 

10+ years with data management, data privacy and data storage

10+ years hands-on experience in designing data platforms with master & transactional data management from Oracle and Informatica

8+ years experience with Data Replication, Data Acquisition, Data modeling, Data warehousing, Data Visualization

6+ years of cloud experience, preferably using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Microsoft Azure

Retail & Manufacturing experience is preferred

Expert in Oracle Analytics Cloud & QlikSense

Expert in OCI and Azure with Golden Gate, ODI, EBS, Fusion Reporting, Oracle CX, Oracle MDM, Snowflake
