Cargills has been investing significantly in Data & Technology for its businesses that operate across all 25 districts of Sri Lanka across multiple sectors from Retail, FMCG, Restaurants and more.
We are looking for passionate and energetic individuals who would like to play an important part of a newly formed setup to unlock business value using analytics and to foster good data governance practices. The setup would be of high intensity, providing an opportunity to get exposed to multiple industries and solve challenging business problems with the power of data and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Perform data extraction and pre-processing
• Carry out exploratory data analysis, statistical data modelling and machine learning using tools such as R and Python to drive analytics use cases
• Visualiaze data and build dashboards using data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau
• Assist with Data Governance projects, in particular with Data Quality Management projects
• Liaise with business stakeholders and technology stakeholders to understand the business context and technology background behind business problems which require analytical solutions
• Present insights and carry out documentation of projects

 
Skills and Qualifications

• An undergraduate degree in Business Analytics / Data Science / Statistics / Mathematics. Other relevant undergraduate qualifications with a significant component in quantitative techniques and analytics would be considered. Completion of relevant MOOCs would be advantageous.
• Prior experience in working on data science projects and generating insights. We are open to hear from candidates with 1 to 3 years of such experience as we are looking to fill multiple positions. Fresh graduates with exceptional profiles could be considered for junior positions.
• Experience in using either R or Python to carry out explolatory analysis, model building and insight generation

• Familiarity in using data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau, with good awareness of data visualization best practices
