Job Description

Data Analyst

William Hill is investing in the technology, processes and people to realise a truly ambitious future vision and as the team grows, we are looking for an experienced commercial Data Analyst to join our team in London or Leeds.

About Us

With over 16,000 people worldwide, we make a huge investment in everyone, offering great career development opportunities. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we offer a fast-paced environment where we have fun, celebrate success and give you all the tools you’ll need to be your best self. It’s not just our colleagues we look after - we’ve got a responsibility to our customers too and we work hard on our ambition that nobody is harmed by gambling.

Your Role within The Team

You'll need to bring us proven commercial experience in an analytical role, with the ability to turn business problems into actionable insight. Strong SQL skills and Power BI or other dashboarding tools are essential, and the ability to code in Python is desirable.

Ultimately, you’ll provide deep-dive analytics around our performance as well as ad-hoc analysis to drive actionable insights and recommendations that increase revenue.

You’ll develop in a wide range of both data and analytical related opportunities:

• Working with the Online business to gain a clear understanding and shaping of their strategic and tactical objectives

• Understanding the synergies between analysis and our wider business to highlight key trends behind the numbers

• Advising on the analytical roadmap to further improve our analytical understanding

• Producing bespoke analysis for a varied audience of senior stakeholders and enrich them via ingesting multiple new data sources

You will do this by:

• Working as part of the wider Business Units to gain a full understanding of the factors that impact our business and the operational practices and policies around them

• Demonstrating the flexibility and focus to handle various projects at once, within both long and short time frames

• Using your capability and experience in analytics to on board and brief both senior stakeholders and colleagues alike

• Setting clear, visible roadmaps of deliverables, communicate and deliver against

• Being well versed in the latest analytical techniques.

Skills and Responsibilities

• Strong data visualisation experience and a good level of using SQL, SSRS and Power BI

• A creative thinker and problem solver, who enjoys taking novel ways to overcome issues

• Excellent planning and organisation skills

• Excellent presentation skills

• You'll enjoy working in a team and building relationships with other departments

• Python and R and an understanding of the online gaming industry/fraud prevention is desirable.

On occasion you may travel to our Leeds, Krakow or London offices.

What we offer

We take the safety and wellbeing of our employees seriously, especially at this challenging time. We have put in place robust Covid19 measures and are supporting our new employees with a smooth remote onboarding and training programme to make you feel welcome and part of our team.

We want to offer a balanced approach to office and home working - now and for the long-term future. We know that not everyone is the same, many people have embraced home working, whilst others can’t wait to get back. Therefore, we are offering our employees the opportunity to work from home up to 80% of the time with 20% of office time built in to ensure we get some face-to-face collaborative team time - and the chance for a coffee and a catch up!

We’ll welcome you on-board with 25 days holiday (not to mention 8 bank holidays and an extra day for your birthday), a rewarding bonus scheme, healthcare (or a cash alternative), an attractive pension package and a flexible benefits scheme. And if you see the journey to work as part of your fitness regime, you’ll just love our Cycle to Work scheme.
