The National Cyber Crime Unit (NCCU) is advertising for a number of Senior Management roles to lead the fight against cyber-crime.
All these high profile roles are at the heart of the NCCU’s senior leadership team which provides unequalled opportunity to shape the strategic direction of the Agency.
We continue to deliver the National Cyber Strategy by leading the law enforcement response to the cyber threat, and represent the NCCU in strategic engagement with UK and international partners.
Incident Management, Operational Support and Exercising
The Senior Manager leads a number of teams responsible for the NCCU incident response function, working with partners to manage live incidents and coordinate a national response, as well as providing specialist cyber tactical support and intelligence capabilities to the wider NCA, national policing, domestic and international law enforcement partners. They will strategically manage incidents as they occur and ensure that teams are proactive in their response as well as leading cyber exercising and operational debriefing.
Enabling Functions
Based within Threat Leadership, the Senior Manager will manage people, governance and project delivery with responsibility for the Threat Management Team, NCCU People Team and NCCU Programme Office. With accountability for transformational business case development and delivery of cyber lifecycle programmes, they will act as a key stakeholder for NCCU.
Intelligence
This role leads the NCCU’s Operational Intelligence teams to deliver proactive intelligence support to cyber-crime investigations. Overseeing officers working in fused intelligence teams which bring sensitive and non-sensitive capabilities to bear against the threat, the Senior Manager understands the threat and links in closely with UK and International partners, whilst engaging with private industry.
Technology
With accountability for development of initiatives and delivery of end-to-end cyber engineering, the Senior Manager will have extensive understanding of delivering advanced cyber capabilities in a law enforcement environment. They will work closely with operational and intelligence colleagues across policing to understand how technological developments can actively contribute to work against the threat. They will manage technical and data experts designing bespoke, directed capabilities against the threat.
Strategy and Performance
As a NCCU Senior Manager, you are responsible for leading the Strategy and Performance team, and the Deputy Director’s private office, working in partnership with Government, partner cyber law enforcement and intelligence bodies to support the NCA’s response to the threat as well as reinforcing our position in the cyber security landscape. NCCU Strategy & Performance is heavily involved in understanding operational and intelligence activity, providing strategic direction, delivering briefs and support to Senior Leaders as they represent the NCA on cyber issues at the strategic level, and overseeing performance across the cyber law enforcement network.
Main Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the development of UK Law Enforcement’s strategy for tackling Cybercrime, working closely with NPCC and NCSC partners, through the Strategic Governance Group, associated delivery groups, and the Strategic Action Plan.
• Communicate the strategy, and the NCCU role in its tactical delivery via effective liaison with wider NCA, NPCC, NCSC and other stakeholders.
• Be accountable for delivery of performance of your remit against the Cybercrime threat and capturing their wider contribution to other SOC and National Security missions.
• Lead NCCU briefings on the Cybercrime threat and response to senior NCA, NCSC, Whitehall and Ministerial audiences, providing written briefings where necessary.
• Lead Heads of Profession work for officers under your remit.
• Own the NCCU corporate Risk portfolio, responsible for the reporting of corporate risks to NCA central teams.
