Job Description
This position leads a team and provides overall financial aspects leadership to NA supply chain customer service and logistics organisation such as:
- Logistic cost management
- Improving inventory productivity
- Ensuring strong internal control compliances in Sarbanes-Oxley around Inventory and Logistic Costing
- Provide visibility on short or medium term risk and opportunities to leadership team on timely basis
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing overall inventory health, working closely with the Supply & Demand and Inventory team :
- Leading in Inventory Budgeting, Latest Estimates and rolling forecast to division, partnering with team inventory, review assumptions, drivers and trends provided by stakeholders
- Ensuring timely monthly closing, submission of Inventory reporting and Corporate Monthly Rolling Estimates (MRE)
- Ensuring internal control compliance around inventory, review periodically Supply Managed Inventory (SMI) Consignment status with Plant Controllers and Procurement to ensure consistent contractual status reported in vendor master data. Managing discontinued, slow moving and obsolete materials (SLOB). Provide recommendations on monthly SLOB reserve to ensure appropriate accruals
- Provide monthly commentary on inventory movement and ensure visibility of risk and opportunity updates to Divisional Leadership Team against goals and recommendations to close financial gaps
- Engaging with manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, Supply Chain Finance, Financial Planning and Demand Planning for all inventory matters
- Oversees all financial aspects related to Warehousing, Logistics and Copacking Costing activities, partnering with the logistics team as well as the indirect procurement team:
- Managing Warehousing Budget, LE and rolling forecast
- Leading month-end closing activities, including ensuring accruals and reserves at appropriate level
- Reviewing performance against Budget/LE goals and standards and recommending corrective actions for variances
- Partnering with Supply Chain on engaging new 3PLs, Funding the Growth and other projects
- Support the validation of 3PL billings (e.g. handling fees via Autopay)
- Provide support in driving FTG discipline (validating potential savings, tracking results and ensuring implementation of savings projects)
- Translating the US Company Logistics Budget /LE position into annual Freight and Warehouse standards costs by lane and by distribution center, calculate impact of new cost releases
- Provide estimated logistics cost for new products and ‘what if’ studies
- Review and manage the invoice accounting blocks related to costing/pricing condition errors
- Ensuring compliance of important internal control, including but not limited to
- two times wall-to-wall physical inventory counts for distribution centers compliance
- Ensuring performance by 3PLs of periodic inventory control activities i.e. cycle counts and snapshots
- Coordinating, performing and documenting Fixed Assets physical count, and validation of results (e.g. potential write offs)
- Ensure timely update of new leases/renewals in the Lease Controller system
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities related to financial processes
- Liaising with CBS, 3PLs, Plants, Procurement, Tax and External Auditors (PwC) as necessary
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or MBA a plus
- 8+ years of related experience
- Demonstrated experience in leadership

- Relevant systems knowledge (Spreadsheet, Bi and SAP)
- SOX knowledge
