Customer Service and Logistics Coordinator - Alpharetta, GA
Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts
This is a fulltime, exempt position. 

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for coordinating the shipment of raw shelled peanuts from shelling plants, outside cold storage, and other points of origin, to domestic and international food manufacturing customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Role requires intimate knowledge of GPC customer accounts including customer product specifications, receivables, credit limits.
  • Attention to Detail is very important for this position.
  • Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Role requires successful communication with GPC Logistics Team in Alpharetta and at the Shelling Plants. Role also requires interaction with GPC Sales; GPC Manufacturing; External Freight Companies; Regulatory Agencies, customers, GPC Accounting, brokers, etc.
  • Candidate must be able to build and maintain both internal and external customer relationships.
  •  Handle and understand the needs of all customers as assigned.
  • Manage customer contracts to ensure customers are pulling on timely basis
  • Spool shipping orders to the shipping locations on a timely basis.
  • Initiate, enter and secure approval on contract amendments.
  • Understand plant operations, including logistics, production and inventory.
  • Understand requirements and procedures of outside purchases contracts and ensure that outside purchases are taken in a timely manner.
  • Candidate must have the ability to select and manage vendors.
  • Authorize freight and outside purchase payments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to use the GPC/ADM main-frame computer systems is required.
  • Ability to use word processing, spread sheet and other PC based programs required.
  • Negotiation skills required
  • Ability to minimize cost while meeting customer needs
  • Problem solving skills required.

Job Requirements:

  • A degree in Business, Logistics or a related field preferred. One to three years of experience, working with shipments, shipment documents or in a related area, preferred.
  • Intermediate Excel and Word experience necessary
  • Detail oriented
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing and marketing processes
  • Understand the urgency of situations and be able to prioritize
  • Qualified candidate must be able to understand peanut grading standards, government regulations and customer specifications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and determine resources that may be needed to solve problems with the Logistics process.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, convey information professionally and concisely.
  • “Team Player” mindset, required
  • Must be comfortable working in the office Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Relocation is available with this position.
