Microsoft aspires to help our customers achieve their own digital transformation, leveraging the power of Microsoft Cloud solutions and support offerings. To this end, Microsoft invests in a dedicated Customer Success team that will help Microsoft customers successfully realize their business outcomes.  

A ​​​Customer Engineer (CE) in Customer Success is a skilled technical expert who delivers proactive services to help customers plan, deploy, operate, and optimize their Modern Work solutions. It is a customer facing advisory role delivering unique value by removing hurdles and accelerating usage of M365 technologies. In this role you will build trusted advisor relationships with our customers who range across all industries and all fields. You will be the cornerstone for providing technical guidance and leadership for our customers to help ensure their solutions are optimized, healthy and in line with Microsoft recommended practices. You will deliver workshops and customer success engagements to accelerate our client’s journey to the cloud. You will contribute to innovation by creating solutions to solve challenges and realize opportunities. You will help customers migrate from legacy Intranets to modern SharePoint including the deployment of Viva Connections. You will showcase the art of the possible with modern SharePoint to customers by developing proof of concept designs and components.

ENABLE customers for successful Microsoft Modern Work.  

EDUCATE customers to strengthen their SharePoint and Microsoft 365 abilities.  

MIGRATE existing on premises SharePoint environments to SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Microsoft 365 workloads. 

INNOVATE with new apps and modernize existing solutions.  

UNLOCK the potential of Viva Connections and SharePoint modern intranets for customers through showcasing the art of the possible.

 This position is available both Part-time and Full-time.  

 

Responsibilities

Delivery (50%)  

  • Demonstrate technical experience in Modern Work solutions/services and being an enabler for customer business innovation and growth.  
  • Participate in proactive account management to develop a deep understanding of your customer and their needs and be able to articulate service offerings. 
  • Work with support teams, account teams, product engineering teams and other stakeholders to ensure a streamlined customer experience.

Deliver Results through Teamwork (25%)  

  • Model personal accountability and teamwork.  
  • Be a team player who collaborates with the Account Team, Customer Success Manager, Sales Specialist and Consultants to drive business growth.   
  • Synthesize customer feedback to facilitate continuous product/services improvement in close co-operation with our Product/Engineering teams.  
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset to continuously learn.  
  • Reuse and improve existing intellectual property (IP) or, where relevant, create new content.

  • Understands customer/partner requirements and can map the adoption and optimization of Microsoft technology solutions accordingly.

Qualifications

A strong candidate will demonstrate the following experience and skills:  

  

Professional  

  • Proven track record in successfully planning, deploying, operating, and optimizing Modern Work solutions.  
  • Proven track record of building relationships with senior IT and business decision makers.  
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.   
  • Ability to explain complex topics in ways that can be understood by technical and business decision makers.  
  • Analytical Problem Solving

  •  

Technical  

  • Proven subject matter expertise in large scale Office 365, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive deployments or migrations 
  • Experience architecting and delivering SharePoint modern Intranets.  
  • Knowledge of Viva Connections and, ideally experience deploying it.  
  • Experience in configuring Enterprise scale SharePoint environments. 
  • Experience in configuring Enterprise scale OneDrive deployments and configurations. 
  • Experience developing for SharePoint will be a valuable addition, specifically SharePoint Framework (SPFx) components.  
  • Experience with the PnP Framework and PnP PowerShell would also be beneficial.  
  • Experience with Adaptive Cards.  
  • Understanding how Microsoft 365 platform components interact with SharePoint Online. 

 

Experience with other M365 technologies administration, deployment and migration will be a plus. 

 

Education  

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent​ professional experience.  
  • At least one of the following Microsoft Certifications would be preferred:  
  • Certification MS-900 – Microsoft 365 Fundamentals 
  • Certification MS-700 - Managing Microsoft Teams 
  • Certification MS-500 - Microsoft 365 Security Administration 
  • Certification MS-700 - Microsoft 365 Certified: Developer Associate 
  • other equivalent Microsoft 365 / Modern Work certifications
