Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)Responsible for cleanliness in all areas of responsibility. Use cleaning equipment, including automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment, tools, chemicals and supplies. Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, stairways and other work areas so that health standards are met. Clean and maintain supplies in restrooms. Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax and polish floors. Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment. Perform special cleaning of induction units, walls, lighting fixtures, and windows, both inside and outside, move furniture and set up meeting rooms.Provide linen removal, cleaning and exchange. Remove trash from premises and assist in cleaning emergency spills that are observed or as requested. Maintain assigned equipment and supplies for cleanliness and request repairs when needed. Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of cleaning supplies and techniques. Skilled in cleaning rooms, bathrooms, furniture, equipment, sweep, mop, dust and arrange room to set standard. Ability to perform semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance of building and related facilities. Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment .Experience & EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial experience preferred.Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment. Physical Requirements/Working Environment Able to perform some heavy lifting.Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortableLong hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditionsPersonnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
