Job Description and Qualifications
Purpose
To support industrial gas (nitrogen, oxygen, argon, hydrogen, etc.) selling activities through promoting and implementing Air Products gas application technology and equipment in Food, Fine Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals industries. The incumbent is mainly responsible for the technical selling, implementing marketing plans for the segment, providing technical service to new and existing customers and working with AT (Advanced Technology) to develop new applications.
Nature and Scope
- Supporting gas selling activities through promoting and implementing Air Products gas applications technology and equipment in above mentioned industries in China. Examples of gas applications may include cryogenic freezing, cryogenic condensation, fast cooling/low temperature control by liquid nitrogen, inerting/blankeing with nitrogen, etc..
- Supporting the implementation of Air Products Marketing Plans and Action Plans for the above mentioned industries.
- Commercializing new and existing industrial gas applications and services for above mentioned industries in China.
- Leveraging industrial knowledge and using engineering principles to develop processes, carry out services, improve equipment design and perform other technical functions in Food industry.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Meet with potential customers to: (a) present Air Products technology; (b) demonstrate economic viability; (c) structure general business parameters; and (d) work out an action plans for the selling loop.
- Identify the need and scope for, as well as coordinate the laboratory testing with customer processes and/or products. Lead laboratory or field trials.
- Support the signing of new business through identification and development of prospects, preparation of technical proposals, and participation in joint selling efforts with sales personnel.
- Coordinate with other functions (such as Application Equipment, Customer Station Engineering) to ensure proper specifications and timely installation of supply systems and equipment.
- Conduct start-ups on customers’ sites to meet the performance request and deliver training to the customer’s operation team.
- Maintain existing accounts through periodic contacts coordinated with field personnel and make recommendations for specific actions.
- Work with AT to generate new development pipeline, evaluate and develop new offerings, identify and conduct the beta trial.
- Work with Industry Marketing, Advanced Technology, Commercial to develop and conduct industry strategic and tactical plan.
- Prepare technical papers, feature articles, and assist in developing brochures and other technical literature. Provide training and technical seminars to field sales personnel, prospects and customers.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- University degree in Chemical Engineering or Food Engineering; Master degree is preferred;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in related industries, understand cryogenic technology is a plus;
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills;
- Strong learning ability;
- Willing to travel;
- Good command of spoken and written English.
