As a member of the police management, you report directly to the commander, help shape overall operations and are responsible for managing the main criminal police department. They are characterized by a high quality of police and judicial police work and thus make a significant contribution to the efficient investigation of criminal offenses, taking into account the legal requirements. 

The almost 160 employees in your area (departments investigation, forensics, situation and information center as well as our cybercrime competence center) will provide you with active support. Taking into account the current picture of the situation and the various specifications, you will develop measures and tactics to ensure the fight against crime, show professional reactions to judicial police events and provide citizen-oriented and modern police work. In addition to the targeted promotion of your employees, you live an open feedback culture and, as part of the team, enable appreciative and respectful cooperation. 

In this managerial role, other tasks include advising and supporting authorities, institutions and private individuals as well as preparing technical reports, concepts, directives and processing parliamentary initiatives. Maintaining lively contact with these stakeholder groups, the BL public prosecutor’s office and other partner organisations, media work with the communications department and working on criminal police committees round off your exciting range of tasks.

This demanding function is aimed at you if you are a solid person with proven management experience and sound specialist knowledge (law, criminology, criminalistics, etc.) and extensive knowledge of law enforcement. You promote respectful cooperation, behave humanely and assume your responsibility by acting dutifully, making decisions and trusting others. You skillfully use conceptual skills, very good presentation skills and strong communication skills.
