The Role
As Credit Risk Analyst, your role will be to ensure the Risk organization and Fidelity Institutional have a thorough understanding of advisor and family office business models, trading strategies, and that we bring on and retain clients that adhere to the Fidelity’s high standards of business conduct. You will become a member of a dynamic team responsible for assessing and overseeing the credit risk profile of new and existing Fidelity Institutional Custody clients (RIAs, TPAs, Banks/Trusts), Family Office clients (MFO/RIAs, SFOs, and WFs), and Fidelity Institutional Wealth Adviser LLC (“FIWAâ€) clients and investment managers. This includes assisting with the review of prospective clients, governance and oversight of existing clients, and strategic initiatives to support these clients.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that all Fidelity clients adhere to the current alternative investment policies and guidelines, which involves collaboration with the FI Product group, Operations, Legal, other risk groups, and key representatives from the impacted business lines including Fidelity Retail as well as Fidelity Institutional – Clearing and Custody, Family Office Services and Fidelity Capital Markets. This includes performing due diligence on new and existing alternative investment assets on the platform; carefully reviewing existing documentation as well as performing non-intrusive background checks on the issuer and its key principals. Additional tasks may include preparation of key monthly reports for review with senior management, monitoring of existing policies and enforcement actions of any violations to current policy.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelor’s degree required
Professional securities industry licenses or industry certifications (e.g., Series 7, CAIA) or desire to obtain them preferred
Interest in learning and developing risk management skills
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with problem solving orientation
Strong team player who takes initiative, builds consensus, and works constructively with others
Ability to work on multiple tasks and manage multiple priorities and workload
Strong presentation, written, and interpersonal communication skills
You are a good listener, take notes well and are a self-starter looking to develop your knowledge of the securities and wealth management industry, including the RIA and family office businesses
Knowledge of Alternative Investment products including REITs, Private LP, LLC, Registered funds, private common stock, a plus
Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and requirements preferred (e.g. Advisers Act, Custody Rule, SEC guidance)
You have a hands-on work style and a “can do†attitude with a strong bias for action and attention to details
You are able to work within a large team, have the ability to navigate a large organization and can build consensus
You approach interactions with all levels of organization professionally and can manage expectations from business partners
You are able to ask sensitive questions in a reasoned and thoughtful way
You are able to continually prioritize and re-prioritize work based on what is needed at any given moment and set and meet expectations appropriately

Collaborate with the team and colleagues in Sales and Relationship Management and SMEs across the enterprise in the profiling and risk review of Fidelity Institutional and FIWA clients
Work within the business to facilitate the identification and resolution of risk issues
Escalate significant risk issues and propose viable solutions and alternatives
Be a resource for the business for risk department policy questions and concerns
Think strategically to come up with and execute on solutions to enhance existing risk monitoring processes
Work with the business and LRC to ensure new and existing programs and platforms offered to our clients are sound from a risk perspective
The Team
The Fidelity Institutional Credit Risk Management Team sits within the Fidelity Legal, Risk and Compliance organization and is part of the Credit and Counterparty Center of Excellence. The team is responsible for credit risk assessments for new and existing clients including but not limited to broker/dealers, registered investment advisers and family office clients. We operate as a cross-functional team setting the standards for the firm in relation to new business acceptance and ongoing client monitoring.
