Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively handles a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

Due to the expansion of the Unsecured Credit Risk Management team we are currently seeking 5 x individuals to join in the role of Credit Risk Analyst.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, maintain and improve credit risk strategies to allow us to make high quality decisions for our customers driven by data;
  • Provide analyses to run credit portfolios against agreed performance indicators;
  • Support growth in the business through the delivery of WPB initiatives, supporting the design and roll-out of new lending products or enhancing existing product features;
  • Assess the expected impact of proposals to understand how they will perform over time
  • Ensure that the portfolio strategies and processes are aligned with the appropriate regulations and regulator guidance;
  • Ensuring adherence to Group and Regional policy and FIM requirements, providing timely MI and insight into the performance of different portfolios and delivery of key Global/Regional Risk initiatives;
  • Continually consider the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA’s) principle of ‘Treating Customers Fairly’ (TCF).

Requirements

To be successful, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Possess a degree/qualification in an analytical/numerical field or equivalent;
  • An analytical thought process, with excellent quantitative analysis skills is critical;
  • Ability to draw conclusions based on analytic results, and present complex concepts and results in a way tailored to the audience is crucial;
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail is key;
  • Ability to run own time and own tasks within a project/piece of work is needed;
  • You enjoy working collaboratively and are a clear communicator;
  • You are motivated by making a positive contribution to how we support our customers and deliver for HSBC
  • Experience of working with data using Excel, VBA, Python or SAS would be ideal, but not essential
  • University work placement experience would be a bonus, but not essential
