Summary

This is an opportunity for a motivated and diligent individual to join the Corporate Governance (CG) team. The successful applicant will become part of a mutually supportive and friendly team. This is a varied and interesting role encompassing all aspect of Corporate Governance. The role will provide administrative support to all CG staff however the main element will be the daily monitoring of the CG multiuser mailbox and team-site. There is an opportunity to develop and broaden their understanding of Governance.

Corporate Governance provides the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) with an assurance on the effectiveness of Air Command’s internal controls and to provide comprehensive, timely, customer-focused advice and guidance, which promote the application of proper procedures and compliance with regulations

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week

Job description

Corporate Governance Administration Support

The post holder will work to a D/C2 in Corporate Governance and carry out the following range of duties:

• Daily task will involve overview of the CG multiuser mailbox and allocate incoming queries to D/C2 personnel.

• Preparing Audit Review documentation packs for the Public Accounts Compliance Review team

• Booking hotels and MT for the PACR team, using the online systems HRG and Clarity

• Assist the C2 in the preparation of the Air Risk and Audit Committee quarterly briefing packs

• Process Non-Executive Director expense claims and travel

• Other duties may include, but not limited to; chasing returns and on Local Initiative Grant (LIG) and scrutinise Families Welfare Grant (FWG) Returns. Maintaining LIG and FWG registers.

The post has no line management responsibility.

Responsibilities

Essential Criteria:

• Competent knowledge of Microsoft 365, especially Outlook

• Highly organised.

Desirable that the post holder has:

• Finance background.

• Knowledge/experience of Public Accounts at station level (not essential as training/experience will evolve in the role)

The post does not offer relocation expenses External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six month probation period.
