Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation and reporting, both internally and externally, of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial information of Bechtel and certain significant subsidiaries.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and accounting consultant to all of Bechtel, and prepare financial analyses and studies as required to support decision making of Bechtel senior management. Works to achieve goals while overcoming obstacles and/or planning for contingencies.
- Prepare financial analysis, plans, studies and presentations as required for Bechtel management.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and serve as the key interface with external auditors, as well as keep abreast of changes in accounting and auditing standards, develop implementation plans to adopt new standards and works with Bechtel management to ensure successful implementation.
- Support business units with financial information needed for proposals.
- Partner with business units and internal stakeholders to determine the optimal business structure when establishing new entities and business ventures or adjusting existing structures.
- Collaborate with other corporate finance groups (Tax, Treasury, Management Information and Planning) to ensure consistency in guidance and thorough analysis of financial issues. Shows strong passion and sense of urgency about reaching targets.
- Proactively seek to improve processes and implement best in class solutions, raising quality and productivity in a calculated way.
- Design a performance management process to monitor projects and deliver results that exceed expectations.
- Assess the talent within the accounting organization, recruit key individuals to address any skill gaps, motivate and develop professionals on the team, and develop a retention plan for top talent.
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of experience in a Fortune 500 organization working as the Controller or Assistant Controller.
- CPA License
- Experience with new finance and operational system implementation preferred, ideally on Oracle ERP systems.
- Experience with large multi-national, multi-entity group consolidations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a global, project-based business; Engineering & Construction industry.
- Experience managing global audits; public accounting experience.
- Technical expertise in U.S. GAAP standards; experience with IFRS.
