Our Corporate Accountant role will supporting the Cigna Canada and all its subsidiary companies in Canada. This role will be providing support for day-to-day accounting operating functions.
Primary Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
Prepare cheque deposits for office administrator to deposit at the bank
Prepare all receipts & journal vouchers and submit for review and processing
Prepare account reconciliations
Accounts Payable
Prepare monthly ACH, Wire Payments and Account Transfers
Process invoices and expense reports
Issue cheque payments and relevant reports
Attached cheques with supporting documentations and include a copy of corresponding cheque and submit to review
Prepared cheque requisitions
Financial and Management Reporting
Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual financial and management reporting
Preparing accounting working papers
Maintain Investment Continuity Schedule for all entities
Administration
Act as a backup for office assistant, including:
Office maintenance
Greet visitors
Drop off and pick up mail
Set up couriers
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
2+ years of full cycle accounting experience
CPA candidate or designation preferred.
Strong working knowledge of insurance accounting in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP is preferred
Experience with OSFI reporting is an asset
Accuracy, attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to maintain confidentiality in respect of information handled is necessary for this role
Experience using ACCPAC and Oracle software is an asset
Must have experience working in Windows environment using Microsoft Office software and possess advanced Excel and Word skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and work in fast-paced environment​
