Job Summary:
The overall role of the Sponsorship Activation group is to help facilitate, execute, and manage the deliverables of all sponsorships within the greater Sports Brand Solutions department. The Sponsorship Activation group is a large part of creating value and additional sponsorship revenue as it relates to our entire Sports Brand Solutions portfolio of properties: e.g. College Sports, NFL, ESPY’s, X Games, etc. The overall group possesses knowledge of ALL events (i.e. inner workings of how events operate), the basic guiding principles of sponsorship and all of the inner workings of each property within Sports Brand Solutions. The group plays a vital role in, not only the execution of the sponsorship agreements, but in the sales process overall - helping maintain the relationship and drive the renewal of all deals.
- Coordinate day-to-day logistics of sponsored event activations, with specific focus on the following: ESPN College GameDay (College Football & College Basketball), College Football Playoff, X Games, ESPYS, Heisman House Tour and other ESPN CFB and CBB events/initiatives, as well as overall support for the team
- Communicate regularly with various internal DTCI departments such as Sales, Production, Audio, Travel, as well as external agency partners, to successfully implement sponsor initiatives into events and help execute activations
- Assist department Managers and Director on customized sponsor solutions, managing day-to-day email responses to RFP requests while creatively brainstorming ideas
- Maintain specific event budget(s) and track weekly expenditures for the above events while processing invoices and managing the overall SAP process for the larger team
- Coordinate approvals for all branded materials and onsite collateral
- Coordinate hotel rooming lists and event attendees each week for each event
- Order and distribute branded merchandise and client gifts for events
- Manage shipping and receiving of event related collateral and premiums
- Oversee individual event wrap-ups and other post event elements; communicate with internal teams to track down and gather all necessary recap information
Responsibilities:
- Daily Communication with internal team and other DTCI groups
- Travel to various events and site visits
- Concept marketing solutions for sponsor and events
- Administrative support and SAP invoicing/process management
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Sponsorship/Event Marketing
- Specific experience in multi-media marketing and on-site event management
- Strategic and creative thinker with a proactive approach to accessing needs and planning ahead
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook and Photoshop
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage several time-sensitive projects simultaneously
- Superior communication skills for frequent internal and external client and vendor-facing discussions and project management
- Desire to build relationships and encourage teamwork
- Ability to travel extensively (25%)
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.
