Controls Engineering Program Manager - Franklin, TN

The Controls Engineering Program Manager is responsible for centrally managing the Controls Program for Mars Petcare North America.  The Controls Engineering Program Manager leads program standardization, and overall successful project execution within manufacturing to deliver business objectives.  This role is an active member of the Engineering community, site technical team and regional/global community of practices. 

What would your key responsibilities be?

  • Champion the overall Controls program and standardization across PNNA, including development, deployment, execution and continuous improvement
  • Develop, implement and improve controls training programs and standards, capability development and documents, including partnership with MSE and Mars University
  • Provide thought partnership in strategic discussions, and influence cross-segment, regional, global teams, community of practices and stakeholders on Controls Engineering program management
  • Develop a direct team of controls engineer with strong expertise to execute projects for PNNA, help train/coach engineers/site technical teams to the Controls standards and execute Controls with excellence (associates located in multiple sites)
  • Motivate and drive teams to ensure timelines are met, identifies risks and removes obstacles
  • Ensure appropriate resource availability and allocation to support controls engineering execution and program sustainability
  • Perform effective risk and issue management to minimize/mitigate risks and issues
  • Manage budget forecasts and provide ongoing reconciliation of CAB expenditures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure team engagement on Controls program and projects
  • Drive adherence to the Controls standards and EWP
  • Ensure Controls learnings are shared and cascaded, along with recommendations
  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership to project teams, direct reports and the sites

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or other related electrical or controls degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in a comparable technical position - food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry preferable
  • In-depth knowledge in automation control including industrial low voltage electrical systems, instrumentation, PLC (preferably Allen-Bradley Logix), HMI/SCADA (preferably Rockwell FactoryTalk View), and industrial control networks. 
  • Fundamental knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)/Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) systems, Factory IT Systems (physical/virtual servers, networks), and Factory Cyber Security requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in a project or program management role
  • Demonstrated experience of planning, managing, and delivering complex programs / projects
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and influencing skills as well as ability to understand business strategies and translation into Supply programs.
  • Strong thought partner and critical thinking skills
  • Able to work collaboratively with other groups
