Job Description
As the Controls Engineering Intern, your responsibilities will include:
- Being responsible for personal safety as well as the safety of any contractors working on projects with a goal of completing projects with zero safety or environmental incidents
- Becoming familiar with a production channel and the control systems employed on the channel, utilizing a Rockwell Control Logix PLC, Alan Bradley, and/or Foxboro I/A System
- Becoming familiar with process measurement and control devices, such as control valves and process transmitters
- Working with assigned project team and learning how to implement programming changes and tie in new field devices to the control system
- Utilizing alarm monitoring systems to analyze alarm frequencies, recommending improvements to alarm handling and implementing approved alarm changes
- Determining instrumentation installation requirements, control system software configuration requirements and working with team to see through the complete installation and configuration

Qualified candidates will have:
- Progress towards a Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 preferred
- Ability to work 40hrs per week during the term (May – Dec 2022)
- Skills and a demonstrated interest in computers and programming, with knowledge in one or more language preferred
- Ability to self-teach from manuals and documentation
- Ability to tackle problems, identify improvement opportunities, implement action plans and follow-up to ensure results
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information and prepare concisely written reports
- Proven analytical problem solving, multi-tasking, and time management skills
- Experience with PC Applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Reliable transportation required to get to and from facility each work day

- Be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor’s Degree Program. If currently enrolled in an undergrad status, must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior.
