Job Description
Key areas of knowledge required include:
- Good understanding of electrical principles essential.
- An understanding of Signalling & Control System engineering concepts, ideally with experience in both legacy and modern control solutions, is desirable.
- Delivery of projects through the complete life cycle; concept to operational service, using your knowledge of governing standards and industry best practice is desirable.
- Experience in implementing control system design solutions and their maintenance in operation is desirable.
- IP telecommunication networks and cyber security concepts knowledge is desirable.
- Practical hand on experience of testing engineering solutions, factory or site, in a rail, communications, electrical or software type environment is desirable
Skills
- Ability to communicate engineering concepts to non-expert audiences at all levels of the business
- Ability to effectively engage with and influence stakeholders
- Ability to identify and evaluate options, including cost and timescale implications
- Ability to think strategically and make connections across the business
- Essential to have the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the team but also to work independently where appropriate
Qualifications & Licences
- Degree or HNC in Electronics or Telecommunications or similar subjects with an aptitude for practical & innovative engineering solutions is essential
- An IRSE licence 1.3.260 Signalling Electronic Tester or evidence of working towards attaining is desirable
