Key areas of knowledge required include:

• Good understanding of electrical principles essential.
• An understanding of Signalling & Control System engineering concepts, ideally with experience in both legacy and modern control solutions, is desirable.
• Delivery of projects through the complete life cycle; concept to operational service, using your knowledge of governing standards and industry best practice is desirable.
• Experience in implementing control system design solutions and their maintenance in operation is desirable.
• IP telecommunication networks and cyber security concepts knowledge is desirable.
• Practical hand on experience of testing engineering solutions, factory or site, in a rail, communications, electrical or software type environment is desirable

• Ability to communicate engineering concepts to non-expert audiences at all levels of the business
• Ability to effectively engage with and influence stakeholders
• Ability to identify and evaluate options, including cost and timescale implications
• Ability to think strategically and make connections across the business
• Essential to have the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the team but also to work independently where appropriate

Qualifications & Licences

• Degree or HNC in Electronics or Telecommunications or similar subjects with an aptitude for practical & innovative engineering solutions is essential
• An IRSE licence 1.3.260 Signalling Electronic Tester or evidence of working towards attaining is desirable
