Job Description

Business

  • Lead and establish the Lean Six Sigma implementation strategy, resource requirements and performance metrics. Develop the overall continuous improvement strategy for APAC business in alignment with companywide strategy.
  • Chair the APAC Continuous Improvement Steering Committee.  Develop, standardize and track KPIs, best operational practices and root cause analysis. Identifies, evaluates and presents projects aligned with the operating or strategic agendas.
  • Manage/assist with sites savings targets for continuous improvement efforts.  While the savings will be rolled into the individual site savings to report and claim, this role will share direct responsibility for achieving these targets.
  • Provide leadership and support to team on continuous improvement systems implementations such as Ingredion Performance System.
  • Coordinate with corporate CI Learning & Customer Engagement on group training, processes, tools and reporting activities.

Agility and  Innovation

  • Lead and drive a data driven culture of continuous process improvement throughout the organization utilizing Lean Six Sigma principles.   
  • Serve as a focal point for continuous improvement activities and be recognized as a visible champion and expert resource in this area.
  • Maintain and continue to expand personal knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methods and tools; be considered an internal resource and expert in Lean Sigma for APAC

Relationships and People

  • Work collaboratively with leadership to identify initiatives and establish priorities based on corporate, regional and site business objectives.
  • Develop a culture, addressing mindset and behaviors aspects, to ensure the sustainability of continuous improvements. 
  • Communicate the status and results of projects to key stakeholders.
  • Foster positive relationships with and between team members, plants, support functions and functional groups.
  • Lead cross functional teams and work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Liaise with other Global CI Teams, Corporate Engineering staff on Best Practices sharing.
  • Promote human talent development of his direct reports, through the identification of growth opportunities, potential leaders and succession plan.
  • Lead regional teams and key stakeholders by influence, generating results and engagement at local and regional levels.

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in operations, technical, or a business role.
  • Certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt .
  • Knowledge of Starch processing is a plus.
  • Capable of learning, leading and sponsoring a data oriented environment with an emphasis on statistics, process improvement, and data analysis.
  • Strong project management, presentation, communication and coaching skills.
  • Experienced manager with a track record of developing diverse talent.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively across functions and at all levels of the business
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to draw insights from data, make data-based decisions, and create a solid business case for recommended actions.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with ability to influence key decision makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a change agent.
