We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as Consultant Relations Director working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets. 

Role Purpose

This role is for a Relationship Manager level to work in the Global Consultant Relations function based in London.  This role is external facing, meaning that the role will be responsible for a number of specific relationships across a number of local and global consulting firms. 

In addition, the role will support the team in our relationships with both global and larger UK consultants, as well as potentially working with consultants and colleagues in the Americas and Asia.

In this role, you will:

  • Be a key team member within the Global Consultant Relations team, based in London, with efforts specifically focused on the global and local UK consultants to promote AMG’s investment capabilities.
  • Work with the existing team to devise and implement plans for the development of business relationships with select pension consulting firms. Ensure that the relevant consultants receive the required information and that the databases are accurate and up to date.
  • Work with the UK Institutional Business Development team on new business opportunities by partnering with them in relation to the relevant pension consulting firms that you are responsible for (both researchers and field consultants).
  • As appropriate, represent AMEU at industry events, building the profile of our business.
  • Ensure that the relevant clients/prospects receive timely, relevant, accurate information relating to HSBC Asset Management and in return the Business remains well informed about all relevant market/regulatory/competitor developments which potentially impact it. 
  • Demonstrate and retain a deep knowledge of asset classes, investment markets and the HSBC product set to ensure appropriate positioning of our products and services to consultants and hence, by extension, our clients.
  • Support the Global Consultant Relations function in putting together material for a range of forums that the team manages as well as takes part in (including European and Global Consultant calls, materials for senior management for use in ExCo as well as material for our internal teams to support wider initiatives and projects.)

Qualifications

 

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • An understanding of the UK and Global Institutional market and the role and function of pension consulting firms
  • A technical ability to be able to have knowledge of AMG’s institutional product offering
  • Previous experience in Asset Management, preferably within a consultant relations team, with the ability to promote financial products and services to external clients
