You know exactly what we mean. In fact, planning is your specialty. You have a knack for translating your understanding to others, whether it’s a complex concept or a diagram.  You’re comfortable behind the scenes, but also at the helm, steering construction projects toward the best-case scenarios from start to finish.

Does this sound like you? We hope so. We’re looking for a Construction Planner to be the boots on the ground between ideas and a well-constructed reality, harnessing skill, experience and foresight to make plans come true.

You’ll also repair and inspect Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) and/or Fiber networks to maintain construction standards, ensuring network readiness for launch or deployment of products.

We’ll also need you to:

Provide oversight of construction project to include materials, contract labor, resources, and estimates to include timelines and expected expenses. Primary work will be in support of plant extensions, cable replacements, third party damages, serviceability, repair quality checks, small/medium retail operations, network rebuilds, network relocates and upgrades.

Perform site assessments of proposed construction projects, ensures alternative routing paths, and assesses cost-effective design for construction.

Coordinate all customer implementation activities including site walk-throughs, pre-construction meetings, verification of demarcation point, coordinates access for subcontract labor, and requests private utility information.

Coordinate contractor work, coordinate and/or obtains permits, building access, or ROW agreements where applicable, distributes design prints and other necessary working documents. Negotiates and approves design or construction changes with contractors and/or customers.

Coordinate with public works personnel, developers, customers, building owners, and utilities on projects.

Complete associated tasks within workflow databases and updates schedules.

Estimate construction costs, prepare budgets, manage change orders, approve contractor invoices and track expenses.

Participate in managing and estimating revenue forecasts, material planning, capital and expense budgets.

Inspect construction work and/or coordinate inspection assignments.

Release addresses as serviceable and notify other departments of serviceability.

As projects are completed, perform tasks to close tasks in database/tool, reconcile assets, and generate reports to ensure proper closure.

Partner with contractors to ensure Cox standards are applied to construction builds.

Participate in BCP (Business Continuity Plan) events as needed.

What’s In It For You?  Really good question, and we have some good answers that we hope you like.

We want you to feel cared for and respected (like you do with our customers), and that starts with Cox’s highly competitive and other compensation perks (401k + company matching, comprehensive medical benefits, etc.).  We also offer Cox discounted services in specific Cox markets, tuition reimbursement for academic pursuits, adoption assistance, paid time off to volunteer, childcare and eldercare resources, pet insurance and much more.

Good work should be rewarded, and not just with a healthy paycheck.  The Cox culture is one that values people more than technology, so it’s our goal to make sure you feel recognized for your contributions.  It’s also important to work alongside colleagues who “get you.”  At Cox, you’ll find a workplace where relationships are crafted with care and successes are celebrated with high fives. We strive to create an environment where you can do you, and everyone from leadership to new hires can support and feel supported.

Growth is a good thing, and you’ll have opportunities to learn and train so you can sharpen your skills and explore opportunities across the Cox family of businesses that will continue to challenge and empower you.
