Position Summary:
Bechtel is seeking a Construction Manager to support the Manufacturing and Technology Business Unit. This area of business focuses on semiconductors (manufacturing facilities and supply chain); electric vehicles (batteries, charging, and production); synthetic materials; and data centers.
Responsibilities:
Oversee construction schedules, construction execution methods focused on manufacturing facilities, staffing plans, direct and indirect activities management and material & equipment, and service requirements
Coordinate and integrate site activities including actions of direct hire craft, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and their representatives to ensure effective delivery
Control jobsite requirement for craft supervision, labor, equipment, material and services and ensure field operations are productive and meet schedule milestones
Ensure that quality objectives & procedural requirements are met, non-conformances are identified, and actions are implemented to prevent recurrence within all construction teams
Ensure required permits and licenses are in place prior to the start of the affected work at site
Maintains an effective relation with other construction managers, to ensure adequate resources are provided to the benefit of the overall project objectives
Provide full support to enable suitable and sufficient engineering deliverables are prepared, reviewed and issued in a timely manner
Provide the resources to provide constructability input during the design phase of a project
Manage cost and schedule through reporting and interactions with site construction personnel or subcontractors
Ensure the effective implementation of management processes to enable the effective monitoring of the works, by inspection and audit of work sites and review of office records and procedures, the compliance of project teams and subcontractors with their risk to ADA and Utility Owner controlled infrastructure, tenants, employees, and the general public
Assist in dealing with variations and contract claims
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management related discipline from an accredited university and 15 years of progressive, construction related experience. In lieu of degree, 21 years of related experience
At least 10 years of experience in the execution of EPC or EPCM projects focused on manufacturing facilities
A minimum of 5 years of experience on construction projects with an understanding of the scope and execution of the work
Recent successful experience in Construction Management in both direct hire and subcontracting
Significant experience of client and supplier relationship management
Familiarity with current industry quality standards, general awareness of labor laws and issues, general knowledge of state, federal, and local contracting requirements, experience working with and supervising craft
Minimum Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of integrated project delivery
Must have high energy
Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems
Advanced interpersonal, teamwork, and creative solution skills
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong leadership and proactive listening skills
