DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

A Construction Manager must demonstrate the following:Overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completionDeveloping subcontractor statements of work, requests for proposals, and technical specificationsEvaluating subcontractor proposals for compliance with customer and Xator requirements, negotiate for best valueInspecting subcontractor work for compliance with requirements, documentation of resultsOverseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations Review of subcontractor progress payment invoices against work accomplished and the schedule of values Organization, implementation and scheduling of the projects OSHA or Safety Officer familiarization Subcontractor management to ensure an integrated team approach that will provide the same level of quality installation demanded by Xator. Ability to work independently as well as engage team members to take ownership of assigned duties and taskingAnticipate, identify and manage project risks People Management Skills: Ability to work in diverse, multi-functional teams responsible for delivering high-quality technical solutions on time and within budget. Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with multiple stakeholders and ensure appropriate management and customer involvement. Customer Interface Skills: Must be able to listen to and understand customer requirements and concerns, and balance diverse stakeholder and contract requirements effectively and efficiently. Ability to handle stressful situations and demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications include:Education:Bachelor?s degree in Business Management, Technology Management, Project Management (or)Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Engineering or related field of study preferably with three progressive years of experience (experience can be substituted for education)

Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of three (3) years? experience in General Construction Management with one or more of the following: Construction management (electrical/power, cabling, telecommunications) experience Training and experience installing intrusion detection systems, CCTV, access control systems and physical security barriers Experience in FAR, DFAR, AFFAR etc. 

Training Requirements:

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plusSpecialized Knowledge/Skills Requirements: Position requires US Citizenship and is contingent upon the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance Position requires 65% - 75% travel.

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS 

Physical Requirements: In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Routine lifting of objects 50-80 pounds such as drills, conduit benders, pipe threaders, cable pullers, and other equipment related to the electrical trade. Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders; scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc. Manual dexterity required for frequent reaching, climbing, and lifting of moderate objects, operation of power and manual tools/equipment, and operating office equipment
