COMPUTER GENERATED IMAGERY ARTIST INTERNSHIP 

The Brunswick i-Jet Lab is seeking a CGI Artist Intern to join our Research Park Team for the Fall semester 2021 in Champaign, Illinois.  

You will work in the Research Park office at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. As a CGI Artist Intern, you will be an integral member of the visualization team. You will work independently and collaboratively with our students and staff on-site towards a progressive future in the boating industry.

AS THE CGI GRAPHICS AND DESIGN INTERN, YOU WILL:  

• Design and build marine boating environments in Unreal Engine.  

• Test and validate custom engine art tools for scaling CG content.

• Optimize and materialize CG boat models for cross platform use. 

• Create and organize marine asset libraries for procedural environment tools. 

• Occasionally make and edit materials.  

• Collaborate with CG/Engine software engineers to brainstorm new tools that expand in-house CG pipeline. 

• Use a combination of off the shelf software and in-house tools to create CG content for marketing, visualization and simulation. 

QUALIFICATIONS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:  

• Pursuing a BS, MS or MFA in a field related to CGI Graphics, CGI Art, and or CGI Design at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. 

• Must be willing and able to work a minimum of 12 hours, per week for the duration of the internship.  

• If on a student visa, must be able to obtain CPT work authorization. 

• Experience working with Unity or Unreal Engine.  

• Understanding of different rendering techniques. 

• Experience modeling 3D assets. 

• Knowledge of designing/lighting environments. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Strong modeling skills in Maya or 3Ds Max. 

• Experience creating PBR materials and textures.
