Bloomberg's Legal and Compliance department has an opportunity in New York to join as a Team Leader managing our Personal Account Dealing and Conflicts of Interest programs.

We are seeking a Team Leader to join our Americas Compliance team. As a leader you will continue to develop our collaborative team which oversees Bloomberg's personal account dealing and conflicts of interest programs. You will be a player-coach, ready to dive in and run both programs, and based upon data analysis and risk assessments, nimbly modify the programs to fit the company's needs. Clear communication and adept interpersonal skills are essential, together with the ability to lead and motivate a team and implement creative solutions based upon data and risk analysis.

We'll trust you to:

  •  Lead a team which oversees both the company’s technology solution to monitor personal trade surveillance and the company's conflict of interest disclosure process
  •  Run programs aimed to identify conflicts of interest and other risks potentially not readily identified by the company's technology solution
  •  Identify process and technology weaknesses, and recommend and implement creative solutions
  •  Continually assess the program’s efficiency, including through defined Key Performance Indicators, and implement improvements as required
  •  Develop relationships with members of Legal & Compliance, HR, Engineering, and other stakeholders to improve operation of and adherence to the program
  •  Collaborate with subject matter specialists in Compliance, Legal, Chief Risk and Compliance Office, and other stakeholders to review and resolve potential compliance issues
  •  Drive data analysis, deliver reports, and advise upon program performance to legal personnel, human resources and management
  •  Deliver annual and ad hoc trainings, especially in areas identified as high risk

You'll need to have:

  •  3-6 years of personal trading surveillance experience
  •  Program management experience
  •  Prior experience managing and coaching a team and advising senior business people on compliance matters
  •  Broad knowledge of the financial industry and industry surveillance best practices
  •  Experience administering regulatory compliance/trade monitoring software
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong attention to detail, specifically in drafting policies, procedures, manuals, and reports for senior management
  •  Experience solving complex problems and streamlining processes
  •  Demonstrated ability to address multiple priorities in an extremely fast-paced environment
  •  Willingness to roll up your sleeves and help out even when it’s not in your job description

We'd love to see:

  •  Proficiency in the Bloomberg Terminal
  •  Experience of identifying and managing risk, including risk framework and issue management
