Compliance Advisor â€“ Roastery Basildon - Permanent
    

Reporting to our Compliance Manager, you will support the Costa Roastery with all aspects of technical and compliance, influencing a positive safety culture and supporting the company in driving continuous improvements around due diligence.

Our roastery in Basildon which is where this role is based, is one of the biggest roasteries in Europe and allows us to produce 45,000 tonnes of coffee a year. This is where all our coffee supplied to the UK and world is roasted and grounded, and we must say it’s a truly fantastic team and site to be part of.

A bit about the role...    

• Using your knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards, you will be managing the day-to-day running of the site safety standards throughout the production site and providing support and expert guidance to the team members for the continual improvement
• You will be implementing and improving the H&S policy and standards for the production site and ensuring risk assessments are in place and carried out as required
• You will be working on the implementation and continual improvement of the Energy Management System across the site
• You will regularly review the site quality & safety systems in line with regulatory requirements and certification standards, assisting with the achievement of appropriate certification for the site (BRC, Halal, ISO, etc.)
• You will regularly review the technical standards for all raw material, recipes and finished goods to ensure the specification repository is kept up to date
• You will ensure consistent team engagement, training and audit of the site quality & safety systems

• Knowledge of food manufacturing processes
• Relevant qualifications: Health & Safety (NEBOSH certificate or equivalent) or Food Hygiene (HACCP)
• Degree qualified or equivalent in relevant subject
• Ability to undertake, document and review risk assessments
• Ability to interpret Food safety and Health & Safety standards
• Good organisational skills
• Attention to details
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience of working and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience with Food safety and H&S standards
