Cox Communications, Inc. is seeking a Competitive Intelligence Data Analyst to gather, organize and compile relevant details that helps the organization understand the competitive landscape. The Competitive Intelligence Analyst supports the Cox Business Competitive Intelligence team by creating and maintaining reporting packages; serving as primary liaison with IT boundary partners, and using geospatial data to drive insights. The Analyst will also have project management responsibilities in driving large scale competitive initiatives. The candidate’s work requires close collaboration with IT, Marketing, Sales, Analytics, Business Operations and other teams to drive results. This position helps develop and execute the competitive strategy.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Monitors competitive activity, analyzes the impact to Cox, works with marketing teams and other applicable departments to determine approrpriate response, and communicates the activity, implications, and recommended response across the organization.
Maintain Monthly Key Performance Indicator dashboard in Tableau
Primary liaison with IT for existing report enhancements and new report development
Work with external data vendors to coordinate and schedule deliverables
Lead efforts to streamline data import/export functions with IT
Prepare Month End Report including initial insights/analysis
Develop data visualization/geospatial tools including interactive maps
Coordinate with network boundary partners to ensure internal data points are updated and accurate
Assist in managing the competitive intranet website
Work with pricing group on market offer and pricing strategy
Prepare ad hoc competitive and peer presentations articulating results from analyses and opportunities for growth and development to internal customers
Support the development and execution of competitive strategies to drive customer revenue growth and customer retention efforts
Develop innovative methods and tools for reviewing, analyzing, forecasting and presenting on Competitive Intelligence team’s achievement of goals
Assist with preparation of roadmaps for incorporating new tools and features within existing tools.
Lead ad-hoc quantitative analysis and research deep dives
Qualifications:
Minimum

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
2+ years work experience in pricing, marketing analytics, finance, technology, or product management in a competitive industry with similar responsibilities
Proficiency with quantitative analytical tools including Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Tableau
Excellent quantitative, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Passion for gathering, manipulating, and interpreting data and uncovering insights that drive business decisions
Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to present complex data in a simple and easy-to-understand manner
Must possess an internal client service orientation
Self-starter with the ability to manage time and multiple assignments, shift priorities, and work independently to meet project deadlines
Willingness to travel up to 5%
Preferred
Advanced degree with an emphasis on quantitative analysis (e.g., economics, finance, business analysis, engineering or equivalent)
Experience in pricing or finance
Experience in the telecommunications industry or other subscription-based business.
