Within CLGU the Funding Delivery Directorate is responsible for delivering a range of programmes across the UK to achieve our vision. We do this working in partnership with local communities, Local Authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships, Mayoral Combined Authorities and the private sector.

The CLGU Unit is made up of three directorates. The funding delivery directorate is one of these. The Communities and European Programme Team operates in the funding delivery directorate and provides support to the Deputy Director of Communities and European Programmes.

Job description

As a System Development Officer and Data Analyst, you will be part of a team of data technicians and analysts responsible for working with the European Regional Development Fund Management Information Leads and Senior Managers to provide timely and accurate information. This role will require experience in database system development, data management and report development. Skills in Access development, Transaction SQL, SQL Server Administration and Power BI Reports creation is essential.

Responsibilities

You will support management information data gathering and analysis across teams and nationally to a range of audiences in relation to the 14-20 European Programme. You will establish and maintain effective partnerships, working with diverse Teams from across the various funding programs and external partners. This could include chairing and actively participating in regular meetings.

You’ll ensure a high-quality service to fund/project managers, including ensuring communications are clear and consistent and queries are dealt with in a timely manner.

You will ensure the data integrity and accuracy of reporting by reconciling data and setting out clear data management structures.

You will collate and produce work instructions and technical guidance, to create and maintain a set of standards which will ensure a uniform approach to data management.

You will work effectively with senior managers and network colleagues, helping to provide solutions to support the delivery of timely, efficient, effective and quality assured management information reports.

You will assist in the day to day support and management of the ERDF Programme’s SQL Server Database

You will actively engage with or contribute to appropriate task and finish groups or ad hoc lean process improvement projects.

Key skills and requirement for the role.

SQL Server Development and Administration skills

Competent Excel skills to include the creation of Pivot Tables/Reports, use of complex functions and Dashboard management

MS Access database development experience, including the ability to write and edit vba scripts/macros

Transaction SQL including authoring SQL Statements

Familiarity with Power BI report environment

Successful candidates will have:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to respond positively and flexibly to competing demands.

Desirable

Knowledge of EU funding regimes

Familiarity with JasperSoft report environment

Working understanding of Microsoft Office 365

Technical skills
