We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Employee Communications Manager, Private Bank, UK – 12-month secondment.
 
Sitting within the UK Communications team, this role acts as the communications business partner to the UK Private Banking division.
 
The successful candidate will be working closely with the Head of Global Private Banking in the UK (PBUK) and the UK senior leadership team, the role is responsible for managing and executing the employee communications strategy in order to drive employee engagement and help deliver the business’s people objectives, and for building relationships with and driving positive coverage in target media outlets.
In this role, you will:

  • Implement a cohesive and compelling employee communications and media relations strategy for PBUK to drive employee engagement, and build and maintain reputation with existing and prospective customers.;
  • Provide employee communications strategic planning, guidance and advice. Use employee insight to develop and advise on employee communications and inform business debate, decision making and strategy. Support global employee campaigns from WPB, GPB and HSBC UK;
  • Support the development, delivery and measurement of an effective, clear employee communications plan for the UK Private Bank;
  • Act as communications partner and trusted adviser to the office of the Head of PBUK, working closely with the support team on a day-to-day basis;
  • Develop, manage and execute leadership communications plan for Head of PBUK, with the Head of Communications WPB;
  • Work with the PBUK ExCo leadership team, the UK Wealth leadership team and the GPB communications team to implement the Wealth Transformation programme locally;
  • Recommend and deliver engaging methods of communicating key messages – including digital, broadcast, and live events.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience in developing and implementing end-to-end employee communication plans at a senior level is essential;
  • Sufficient seniority and credibility to represent HSBC with key national and regional media at senior levels is essential;
  • Experience in working directly with senior leadership teams, as well as working with Senior stakeholders;
  • Able to work within an ambiguous environment, prioritise and reconcile competing demands and resolve complex issues;
  • Ability to work quickly, managing time and multiple priorities effectively;
  • Excellent interpersonal, strategic planning and project management skills;
  • Excellent knowledge of communication trends and best practice;
  • Good knowledge of financial services industry and global marketplace.

The base location for this role is London or Birmingham but there will be an expectation to regularly attend the London Office
