Job Summary:

Disney General Entertainment is responsible for supplying programming to all of The Walt Disney Company’s distribution platforms through its creative brands ABC Entertainment, ABC News, Disney Branded Television, Freeform, FX, Hulu Originals, Onyx Collective and National Geographic, and television studios 20th Television and ABC Signature. These units create, produce and market iconic and critically acclaimed programming that feeds the company’s streaming platforms Disney+, Hulu and Star, and its cable and broadcast networks. During the 2020-2021 season, the group produced the No. 1 scripted series across 14 different streamers and networks, and garnered a combined total of 205 Emmy Award nominations across daytime, primetime and news segments.

The Human Resources Communications Manager for Disney General Entertainment Content will work closely with teams across the corporate communications function, partnering with the human resources and learning and development teams. They will be responsible for developing communications strategies and crafting communications materials to support employee programs. The successful candidate will have experience with communications and marketing strategies to launch and sustain specific programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate is well-versed in the human resources function and can elevate the narrative around building a culture that supports belonging and long-term career opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Partnering closely with segment and enterprise HR functions to build and execute campaigns that support the rollout of employee programs and initiatives including workplace policies, performance management, and career development processes
  • Create a cohesive narrative across HR-led employee programs that shape and support the employee experience, and reinforce a culture of belonging and career growth at Disney
  • Ensure the timely communication of programs and announcements across all relevant platforms
  • Strategically tailor key messages about specific HR programs toward various audiences within the company
  • Design communications strategies that consider both proactive and reactive tactics
  • Work cross-functionally with HRBPs and business unit leads to align on communication goals, channel strategy, and messaging
  • Partner with creative services teams to develop complementary visuals and videos for internal and external use, when appropriate

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of work experience in communications, organizational strategy, or marketing
  • Experience building communication roll-out plans as well as executing against them
  • Excel at managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Great collaborator with success building and developing cross-functional relationships
  • Familiarity with HR functions and operations
  • Excellent communication skills and writing capabilities, with proven ability to translate complex ideas and messages so they can be communicated effectively to a broad audience
  • Professional presence and ability to operate as the lead writer/communications professional on large project teams; highly motivated and collaborative self-starter with strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail; able succeed under minimal supervision

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related discipline
