Job Description

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as an Communications Manager Europe, Commercial Banking (CMB) and Global Banking and Markets (GBM), working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

Role Purpose

The role holder will support the Head of Communication, Europe GBM/CMB deliver the vision of the GBM and CMB Communications teams in Europe to protect and enhance the reputation of GBM and CMB externally, while engaging our colleagues, building pride and confidence in, and commitment to, HSBC.

In this role, you will:

  • Liaise and partner with the HSBC European communications team
  • Liaise and partner with GBM and CMB internal and external communications colleagues
  • Support external and internal communications activity of GBM and CMB in the markets across the European region
  • Help deliver activity to help elevate the communications capabilities of senior leaders across Europe
  • Work closely with colleagues across the region to support the business strategy to achieve their goals and targets
  • Support the strategic communications strategy across European markets, in line with the GBM and CMB commercial objectives
  • Support the strategic goals of the businesses as they re-shape their footprint to align to the Group strategy
  • Support colleagues and leadership in communicating a refreshed, positive narrative for GBM and CMB across Europe

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience in a communications role with a track record of integrated reputation management
  • Communications subject matter expert – commercial banking, transaction banking, investment banking and sales & trading
  • Interest in geo-political, political, regulatory and social risks and sensitivities
  • Experience of adherence to communications-set governance and policies as well as ensuring compliance with Group policies and procedures, including maintaining required records
  • Experience of working in a complex international, or diverse cross-cultural environment
  • Experience of transformational change with organisations, including the introduction of new technologies or processes
  • Understands and embraces agile ways of working
  • Understands media
