About the role
Are you looking to join a fast-paced, creative team responsible for internal and external communications? Then look no further as we have a role in our team on a 10- month contract, covering reputational and consumer PR campaigns, creative storytelling and all things internal comms. It’s a varied role spanning colleague, influencer and PR, so there’s never a dull moment in the team.
You'll work with media and influencers on campaigns that give us differentiation in market and deliver our core brand pillars. You'll be a go-to person in the business so you'll need to understand the world of PR. The successful comms executive will also have the ability to identify risk, helping protect the Tesco Mobile brand.
You will also help drive our colleague engagement strategy with comms that connect and resonate with our head office and retail colleagues. You’ll be instrumental in bringing our tone of voice and values to life, helping to create an environment where colleagues love working for the brand, becoming our strongest advocates and ambassadors.
The role offers immediate exposure to all areas of the business as you work collaboratively with key stakeholders on all things comms.
Key responsibilities
Some of the areas you'll be involved in:
• Building and delivering consumer and corporate PR plans, aligned to our strategy and comms calendar
• Generating coverage and proactively monitoring the media landscape for opportunities
• Acting as a core point of contact for campaign launches and always on activity
• Writing and editing written materials such as press releases, leadership comms and colleague stories
• Building relationships with key press and influencers
• Community management and content creation on our colleague engagement platforms
• Managing our internal comms inbox
• Working collaboratively with relevant teams across Tesco Mobile and shareholder teams in Tesco and O2
• Helping manage agency support
Skills and experience
• Experience in consumer PR delivering successful, integrated campaigns
• Knows the media landscape and can help land coverage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that influence and engage internal and external stakeholders
• Adaptable, inquisitive and comfortable with ambiguity. We're on a journey to becoming an Agile business, so we're currently working through a high level of change
• Familiar with social platforms and working with influencers
• Understanding of internal digital platforms, like Yammer
• Strong project management with experience in planning, delivering and evaluating campaigns
