Job Description

Responsibilities:

Social Media – Serve as a social media expert for the broader Yum! Corporate Communications team. Provide guidance on social media metrics, social listening tools, analytics/insights and training. Partner with the team to develop social and digital strategy and manage content calendars by working closely with the broader Yum! Corporate Communications team, HR and brand/market partners to identify, curate and promote content on Yum! external channels.

Writing and Messaging Ã¢â‚¬â€œ Act as an in-house journalist, sourcing, reporting and penning stories that advance company strategy amongst both internal, corporate employees and external stakeholders. Form and maintain relationships throughout the company to maintain the pulse on goings-on. Draft communications plans, ensuring all elements of story from beginning to end are seen in advance, understood by responsible parties, assigned, tracked and completed.

Crisis Communications & Preparedness – Monitor global social media conversations to identify potential issues and alert broader team to ultimately diminish and diffuse the impact of potential crises. Interact with global teams and leadership to ensure quick and thorough response.

Social Responsibility Ã¢â‚¬â€œ Support broader team in driving forward Yum!’s Citizenship & Sustainability agenda including the Yum! Citizenship & Sustainability Report, key announcements and milestones, social media content, executive visibility opportunities and employee engagement.

Stakeholder Insights, Research, Measurement & Cross-Functional Support Ã¢â‚¬â€œ Surface key external news pertinent to the organization by monitoring on an ongoing basis and informing the Yum! Corporate Communications team, in addition to global brand/market teams and leadership as relevant. Research various macro- and micro-level industry topics. Assist with media inquiries; lists; awards and recognition submissions; various business and financial communications; executive visibility opportunities; and employer value proposition requests from the Public Affairs team. In addition, manage vendor relationships to ensure all software and services for the Global Media & External Communications team are functioning properly and being fully leveraged. Also, maintain an updated list of PR clips as well as PR/social/QA contacts from Yum!’s global markets.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA or BS (Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Social/Digital, Public Relations or related field)
  • 3-5 years of corporate communications, public relations, social/digital or journalism experience.
  • Prior experience managing online communities and working with social insights/analytics tools preferred.
  • Strong writing and copy editing skills required. Experience developing media materials such as press releases and story pitches preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Location: Louisville, KY/Plano, TX preferred, but open to remote if necessary.

  • Values collaboration and has experience partnering with wide a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve results.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslywith tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team ina fast-paced, fluid environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills,attention to detail,professional maturity, team player and intellectually curious.
  • Must be fully vaccinated by January 3, 2022, subject to reasonable accommodations. Proof of vaccination required.
