Segment Description:

The Wellness Strategy and Integration Team supports health & wellness across all Disney Parks Experiences and Products (DPEP) by providing and promoting wellness resources, offerings and opportunities to Cast Members. We do this through various marketing and campaign efforts, as well as digital media and special events.

The Communication & Graphic Design, Health/Wellness Intern will be responsible for supporting communication related to health and wellness programs for Cast Members and their families. The team works with internal Disney partners to develop content, creative messaging and assets needed to educate and engage our Cast Members. We’re looking for communicators who are passionate about health and wellness promotion and education, as well as graphic design and social/digital communications. Are you one of them? Responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Design/update digital and print collateral, such as social graphics, web banners, event A-frames, digital fliers, print posters, brochures, presentations, webinars, videos, Cast TV’s, etc.
  • Capture photos and/or wellness videos for use in communications
  • Learn new skills from fellow Cast Members on the team
  • Collaborate in brainstorming and planning meetings with teammates and key business partners
  • Develop and execute communication strategies and campaigns that engage and educate our Cast Members related to monthly wellness topics
  • Write articles, blogs and e-newsletters
  • Maintain and support the Wellness intranet site via The Hub
  • Collaborate and produce short wellness podcasts

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Passion for creativity
  • Previous experience in web design/banners and web maintenance
  • Strong design skills
  • Eagerness to learn and collaborate with others, a self-starter
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to problem solve, think critically and manage multiple projects independently
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop), Microsoft Office Suite and Keynote
  • An electronic online portfolio must be included as a URL link listed on your resume.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Wordpress
  • Basic photography and video editing skills
  • Previous experience in marketing and promotions
  • Experience on Mac and Windows operating systems
  • Basic knowledge of various social media platforms
  • Knowledge of DPEP and/or previous Disney experience

Required Education

  • Currently enrolled as a junior or higher pursuing (or recently graduated with) a degree in Graphic Design, Communication, Digital Media or a related major
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program

Additional Information:

  • The approximate dates of this internship are May 2022-January 2023
  • Must be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
  • Able to occasionally work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends or holidays on days we have special events

  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
