Job Purpose and Impact

The Commercial Manager will develop strategy and lead the progress and implementation of commercial strategies and tactics for the assigned Retail Confectioners industry (RCI) In this role, you will direct a small team, including all Cargill’s people process, the channel portfolio and the customers. You will deliver channel profit and loss goals partner closely with essential teams (Pricing & Product Line Manager (PPLM)) and act as a key member of the leadership team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and develop the formulation and execution of mid to long term channel strategies to expand the business, including annual channel planning process, market´s specific goals communication, operating principles and strategies for the specific (RCI) channel.
  • Provide strategy and oversight to develop a systematic and structured approach to build customer insight and understanding while drive customer focused innovation and implement innovative solutions.
  • Apply expert market and industry knowledge to lead the definition and implementation of the customer centric value proposition for the channel portfolio of products, services and customers.
  • Manage commercial accountability and profit & loss (P&L) responsibilities for the channel including maximizing revenue while reducing costs.
  • Foster relationships with customers and channel related industries groups including direct contact with strategic customers.
  • Establish and champion customer connectivity philosophy including overall customer satisfaction and businesses retention and cross-functionally improvements in products and services offered to channel customers.
  • Leverage internal and external business unit sales organization structure and develop new processes to improve sales effectiveness and cost to serve.
  • Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred

  • Three years of supervisory experience
  • Food industry experience
  • Chocolate & compound business experience
