Job Description

THE ROLE

As a Commercial Customs Associate at ASOS, you will be responsible for helping to support the Commercial Buying and Merchandising teams with all customs and tax related queries.

You will be closely partnering with the Customs & Tax teams, Supply Chain, Global Planning and the Commercial Academy, working cross functionally to stay aligned with best practice and deliver business efficiency. You will be a fundamental part of the wider Finance and Commercial teams and help contribute to the success of ASOS.

THE TEAM

Our Commercial Operations team works cross functionally to strive to deliver smarter ways of working and maximise efficiencies. You will be reporting into the Head of Commercial Change and Operations as part of a newly-formed arm of this team, supporting our mission of becoming the world’s number one destination for fashion-loving 20-somethings.

You will be…

  • Working cross-functionally with Customs, Tax, Global Planning, Supply Chain and Commercial Buying & Merchandising teams

  • Taking on a product specialism (Clothing, Non-Clothing, Footwear & Face and Body)

  • Checking all PO’s for high risk product areas – focusing on classification and commodity codes, MID codes to ensure product documentation is customs compliant

  • Supporting both Customs and Commercial teams with queries

  • Monitoring and reporting of missing/ contradictory product information

  • Supporting Sourcing Teams to understand duty costs and the requirements of the free trade agreement

  • Supporting with L&D to continuously iterate the material focussed on Customs & Classifications

  • Building strong working relationships both internally and externally to set yourself up for success

  • Strong communication and the capability to prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Customs/ tax knowledge

  • Confident presentation skills (MS Powerpoint)
