Engineering co-op students at Meritor, Inc. are considered to be an integral part of the Engineering staff and are provided with tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating. Under guidance of the senior engineering staff, the students may be assigned to teams associated with ongoing production or projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Preparation and modification of engineering models and drawings or electrical wiring diagrams using computer-aided design software.
Miscellaneous technical data generation and analysis using tools available on PC Based engineering workstations. These tasks may involve writing new software or modifying existing code.
Support of component or equipment design, processing, tooling and measurement collection activities
Interface with other internal organizations such as manufacturing, maintenance, and purchasing, as well as external customers and suppliers.
Educational Requirements/Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled student majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering and must have completed the freshman year.
Abilities/Skills:
Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills required. Must display maturity and a high level of professionalism. Strong computer skills desired.

QUALIFICATIONS
Successful candidates must possess a high school diploma or (GED) High school equivalent diploma. Must have mechanical and troubleshooting abilities on forging and machining processes. Must be able to accurately assemble forging tooling using the Master Card. Must possess the ability to use precision measuring instruments (i.e. Micrometers, Calipers…etc.) to inspect forging tooling or parts. To use different power tools such as; impact wrenches, grinders, and all hand tools; wrenches, screw drivers, Allen wrenches, and socket wrenches. Must be able to operate a forklift and sustain a valid operator’s license if required by manager.
Must be enrolled in Engineering Program through an accredited College
