Job Description
Responsibilities
- Understand market demand and customers’ data estate, including common workloads, use patterns and business priorities and needs, focusing in the specific area of expertise
- Apply technical knowledge to help implement solutions, help solve technical customer problems; build technical collateral
- Understand current technical capabilities of the Azure and competing products and platforms
- Identify opportunities for improvement and enhancement based on customer, field and internal stakeholder feedback and help incorporate them into the overall technical strategy
- Help define and drive end-to-end programs for execution of the technical strategy
- Serve as the technical lead and interface between Azure field teams and Azure Engineering in respective areas and help with content delivery when/where needed
- Working with multiple customers to create Proof of concepts (POCs) / Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) etc. and guiding customers through to production deployment and operationalization of projects​
- Ensure that solution exhibits high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, repeatability, appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment
- Be an Azure Platform evangelist with customers, partners and external communities
- Build and grow Data & Analytics communities by driving activities including OpenHack, Workshop
Qualifications
Required Professional Qualifications
- Experience working with large Enterprise customers and field communities in consulting or similar roles, leading deployment projects, architecture, design, implementation, and support of highly distributed applications OR: Experience in building products and services as part of Engineering teams in engineering positions.
- Ability to run complex program management at a global scale, including cross-project planning and resource orchestration, as well as the ability to consistently identify and drive program enhancements.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to execute cross-org and drive for results in ambiguous environments, independence in decision making, ability to problem-solve.
- Proven ability to quickly adapt in rapidly evolving business situations
- Experience in managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solutions/projects.
- Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts, and ensuring follow-through with exceptional verbal and written communication
- Strong Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences and with different levels of an organization
Required Technical Qualifications
- Deep domain expertise in one of the Data-specific areas, such as SQL Server, deployments and migrations to the cloud, Open-source database deployments and migrations, Cloud Scale Analytics, Data Governance, etc. OR hands-on experience working with the respective products at the expert level.
- Hands-on experience and technical expertise with respective products and technologies.
- Working knowledge of Azure and/or competitive cloud technologies.
Preferred Technical Qualifications
- Software development practices like DevOps and CI/CD tool chains (i.e., Jenkins, Azure Developer Services, GitHub) and container orchestration systems (i.e., Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, Azure Kubernetes Service, GitHub).
- Understanding of partner ecosystems and the ability to leverage partner solutions to solve customer needs.
Preferred Education Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience in related field.
- Certification in one or more of the following technologies: Azure Data, Analytics, Big Data.
Desired Experience​
- Prior work experience in a Consulting/Architecture position within a software and/or services company such as Amazon, Google, IBM, etc.
