A Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) within the Azure Customer Architecture & Engineering team
focused on Digital Application & Innovation will be responsible for:
• Customer success on the Azure platform with a special focus on designing and helping customers build production applications and reduce technical risks
• Providing a positive impact to the strategic direction of Azure engineering teams
• Curate and produce high quality guidance for our internal and external communities and customers
• Mentorship and development of technical delivery personnel within the Customer Success organization
The ideal candidate will have a breadth of knowledge across cloud computing domains, experience on Azure or other cloud, as well as expert level hands-on experience in topics from the application development technical domains below:
Required (Two or more of the following):
• Industry software engineering experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and a modern web framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue)
• Industry software engineering experience with Programming languages such as C#, Java, GO, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Ruby
• Experience with the PowerPlatform (PowerApps, PowerAutomate, PowerBI) Teams/Office 365 development
• Experience deploying, supporting, or managing applications in production
• Experience with source code management using Git or other source control technologies such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, Atlassian or others
• Experience in Linux and bash or shell scripting
• Knowledge of RESTful web services technologies like JSON, WebAPI, ASP.Net, and OData
• Must be a strong programmer with software engineering experience and good debugging skills
• Must be passionate about incubating new ideas, solving problems, and building working systems
• Must be a self-motivated, proven collaborator, good communicator and have an ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience developing in Java (J2EE, Spring, JBoss, Tomcat, Web Logic, Struts, etc.)
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code to build, test and deploy infrastructure for application environments
• Experience with Containers for packaging application deployment units and interacting with container-orchestration technologies such as AKS, Kubernetes, EKS, GKS, OpenShift, and/or Cloud Foundry
• Experience with building, deploying, and operating applications and services on cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Experience with application migrations and/or modernization for scenarios such as web applications, monoliths, and databases
• Experience with application monitoring, end-to-end telemetry, and operations at-scale, preferably in a cloud environment
• Experience with Identity and access control with experience administering B2B and B2C applications (Azure AD, Auth0, Okta, etc)
• Experience with running microservices and container-based workloads in production
• Experience with architectural patterns and anti-patterns for resiliency and geo-availability
• Experience with application design patterns, and anti-patterns, such as MVC, CQRS, etc.
• Experience interacting with and querying databases and/or NoSQL datastores
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field experience.
Certification in one or more of the following technologies preferred: Azure, Containers, Databases, Security, Development, DevOps
Travel:
This role may require up to 25-50% travel (dependent on regional COVID restrictions) as CAE Engineers are sometimes expected to work on-site with customers across the globe, with an occasional need to be in Redmond WA to engage directly with the broader CAE team and other engineering teams.
CAE Engineers are remote workers that can be based across different Microsoft locations or home offices depending on individual circumstances.
