Vodafone Business Platform & Solutions (VBPS) is building a Next Generation Assurance & Orchestration Platform to support our UC, Mobile Private Network (MPN) and Fixed Connectivity products.

Underpinning these capabilities is a public cloud infrastructure, built in both AWS and GCP Cloud environments, which hosts the business-critical applications and consumes cloud service provider services.

As the Public Cloud & Infrastructure Architect you will own the UC & Platforms Cloud Platform and Integration Architecture and Roadmap, which you will maintain through continual engagement across the Vodafone organisation and specifically the Digital & IT and Network Strategy & Engineering functions. Ensuring that the platforms are compliant with the security policies of Vodafone and industry standards.
 

Job Responsibility

What you’ll be doing:

• Own the UC & Platform ‘Public Cloud & Integration Architecture’ and Roadmap.
• Through working with the UC & Platform Release Trains ensure that their developments align with your vision and Vodafone policies e.g. Security by Design
• Continually evaluate the latest trends, review new feature availability, their applicability and business benefit to deliver innovative solutions improving CXX
• Define and Input to Public Cloud Chapter best practices e.g. Automation, IaaC and CI/CD
• Cloud Architecture & Integration, at a large Tech Co, including application development, identity and access management, network and data management, and security
• Experience with Microservices, Functions, Event-driven/reactive programming or other Cloud Native architectures and a deep understanding of the capabilities of one or more cloud infrastructure providers (AWS and GCP preferred) and the ability to propose solutions based on these capabilities 
• Proven experience in technical delivery leadership across complex multi Domain ecosystems
• Experience reviewing and implementing SW Development, DevOps and SAFE/Agile standards and practices
• Demonstrable experience of senior stakeholder engagement, effective at managing ambiguity and conflict resolution

• You will have significant Architecture and Design experience, a detailed understanding of the technology, available options, best practice, with an ability to present complex topics and recommendations to the senior team. 
• Provide high-quality leadership that creates engagement, empowerment, trust and you will support and coach the Cloud Infrastructure developers as the Architecture evolves.
• Have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills, enabling you to effectively share and work with the development release trains, ensuring a successful and quality delivery.
• A growth mind-set is key, as is innovation and the desire to experiment and push new features that will potentially benefit Vodafone customers and the internal Operational teams.
• Operate in a fast paced, ambiguous environment, must be able to adapt to changing demands with a drive to deliver.

• Certifications: Such as ‘AWS Solutions Architect Professional’ or AWS DevOps Professional
• Relevant OS, software development, networking and security qualifications
• Enterprise Architecture desirable
