Job Description

Trustmarque is currently seeking a Cloud Consultant with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure and delivery automation. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and capable technologist, responsible for evangelising, designing, and delivering cloud-based environments in Azure.

This is a hands-on delivery role in a wider multi-disciplinary team, with particular focus on customer interaction.

About us:

Trustmarque is an award-winning IT partner that delivers IT solutions which empower our customers to work smarter and more effectively. We simplify business, through a flexible and cost-effective approach that empowers organisations and their people. Giving honest, simple and independent advice we help our customers to navigate an increasingly complex world of IT – and that’s exactly what you’ll do too, if you join our talented team here.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with customers at all skill levels to identify and exploit the benefits of public cloud, articulating long-term roadmaps, risks, and opportunities.
  • Development of cost estimates for cloud transformation, including cloud consumption, delivery effort, and service charges.
  • Production of design documentation for customer environments aligned to internal standards, and aligned with external guidance such as CAF, NSCS CyberSecurity, and vendor recommendations.
  • Contribute to team standards and processes.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to collaboratively deliver high quality code assets.
  • Discover, assess, learn, and share new technologies, cloud platform features, and frameworks with both colleagues and customers.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in technology disciplines by achieving certifications where required.
  • Leverage strong listening and explanation skills to be a clear communicator in written, oral, and visual mediums.

Able to work efficiently and meet deadlines with limited supervision.

Technologies:

  • Provisioning of Azure resources via ARM templates, PowerShell, and CLI, demonstrating best-practise use of automation (GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps Pipelines). Awareness of broader orchestration tooling such as DSC, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Pulumi, etc would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g. DotNet, JavaScript).
  • Good working knowledge of Git for source control, with awareness of alternatives.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of Azure infrastructure including:
    • Networking (VPN, IP, DNS, Load Balancing, Firewalls, ExpressRoute)
    • Monitoring (Insights, Log Analytics, Dashboards)
    • PaaS Services (web apps, SQL)
    • Security (Sentinel, Azure Defender, Service Principals, AD/ADDS/B2C)
  • Comfortable utilising and manipulating data interchange formats such as JSON, XML, and YAML.
  • Working knowledge of a range of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Track record of learning and implementing new technologies. We often work with third-party technology vendors to deliver solutions, and a broad awareness or experience of these would be advantageous (e.g. Veeam, Palo Alto, Barracuda).
  • Proficient in use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and an illustrative package such as Visio.

Experience:

  • 5 or more years of experience doing application and/or infrastructure solution architecture.
  • 3 or more years of experience building cloud architecture with Azure, including cloud migration.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science, or engineering.
  • Preferred certifications: AZ-303 and AZ-304

Work Location:

  • 100% Remote work is an option - 30-40% travel to client site post Covid

We recruit and develop our people based on merit and their passion for creating better outcomes, and we’re committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

All interviews, assessments and background checks will continue to take place online, to completely remove the need for face-to-face contact. All Capita colleagues who can work from home should do so; and where it is not possible for colleagues to work remotely, we have taken important steps to protect those working from Capita’s offices. Social distancing, enhanced hygiene and safety measures are already in place at all Capita locations that are open to protect our colleagues and manage the risk of COVID-19.
